When it comes to men’s coats, you have many different options available to you these days. Obviously since this is a men’s wool coat website, our bias is obvious. But we don’t just talk about wool coats here, we also talk about leather coats and even some women’s coats. See, we are open-minded here!

But guys being guys, there is one fact that will always exist, and that is this; by and large we just don’t care! As long as it keeps you warm and doesn’t look hideous, it’s okay with us… and if it does look hideous, well, as long as it keeps us warm we don’t really care. I mean it!

Men are tempted to simply walk into the first store they bump into and look around for a minute and sort of grab a coat that seems to fit and looks okay and pay for it and get the heck out of there. Most of the time we can get away with shopping like this for a coat but sometimes you just can’t. There are certain circumstances that require that we own a good coat; for instance, a good coat for work or formal occasions… or a sports coat (I’m not talking about a dinner jacket I’m talking about a coat that supports our favorite sports team like a Chicago Bulls coat).

The fact of the matter is, today more than ever we have endless options of different coats to choose from and picking the right one for the right occasion can be confusing. So what exactly do you need in the world of coats?

What you need is a good coat that you can wear to work. If you work in a white-collar type job than this probably means a nice wool coat or overcoat. If you work in more manual labor type job then you need a good warm tough coat will stand up to both the weather and heavy wear and tear.

Then again, you need a light jacket to wear when it’s not that cold out but still cold enough to need something. Again this will depend on your job to a large degree. A nice light leather jacket might work well in many circumstances, or a windbreaker of some sort or sports team jacket of some kind may be appropriate.

If you are a younger guy, you’re going to want something a little fancier for the weekends when you go out on dates or hit the clubs. If you’re a little bit older you may need a good golf jacket to wear out on the links.

In just about all of those scenarios I talked about above, a good wool coat will do in almost all those circumstances. The thickness of the wool will depend on the weather and the particular reason you want the jacket or coat. In cases where wool won’t work, I recommend a nice leather jacket… but then again there you go, that’s what this website is about so we’re completely biased!!

Some guys can pick out a coat on their own without any problem at all. Others, like me, have an incredibly difficult time doing this sort of thing. Whenever I walk into a store, my eyes glaze over and I just couldn’t care less for the most part. For people like us, it’s a good idea to go shopping with a wife or girlfriend, or least a friend that has some sort of fashion sense that’s better than yours. No matter what you do, make sure you get at least one or two decent men’s coats that you can rely on.

There’s nothing cooler when it comes to coats than mens leather coats. If you are a guy that doesn’t have one, then there’s something seriously wrong with you! I’m not kidding, every guy should own one and that’s all there is to it. You can have any old coat if you want, but why not get something that has a little style and something that will never go out of fashion, ever.

On the page I’m going to talk a little about how to find the right coat for you. I’ll talk about what you can expect to pay, and what you should stay away from in almost every case. I’ll tell you where to look for the best deals and where to find the best coats. We’re guys, we need help with this sort of thing because it doesn’t come natural to us. You’ve come to the right place.

How Much Can You Expect To Pay? Leather coats are tricky in their pricing. You can go to a regular department store like JCPenny’s and find super cheap leather coats. Sometimes you can find them for under a hundred bucks. I highly recommend that you stay away from these coats. Sometimes they are fake leather, and sometimes they are just really low quality leather that will start to look bad almost immediately after you buy them.

Prices for a good one can start at around the low $200 range, but keep an eye out for a coat in the $300 range if at all possible. These are going to be nicer coats that hold up better over time. After that prices rise to around the $500 mark for a pretty good one. After that they tend to shoot into the thousand dollar mark and above for the specially trendy designer brand coats that you see models wearing. I’ve never bought one of these super expensive coats but the leather on them feels almost as soft as silk.

My first coat: The very first leather coat I bought cost me around $150 bucks and I was like 20 years old when I bought it. I remember it because it was the first purchase I ever made on my very first credit card. I was very happy with the coat for a few months, but then the leather started to turn shiny looking. It happened slowly, but in no time at all the leather had a windbreaker look to it and I had to get rid of it.

I learned my lesson well. It pays to spend a few extra dollars for a nice leather coat. These days I don’t even look at a coat unless it is at least $300 dollars. But I will say, the two other coats that I have bought since then (both over $300 each) have held up for many many years. One of them is the coat that I wear everyday and it has held up perfectly for almost seven years of daily use. That’s what you get when you buy one of these kinds of coats. And you know that no matter what the current fashions of the day are, mens leather coats absolutely never go out of style.

When it comes to your coat, in my mind there is only one option for the serious coat wearer and that is a wool coat men, am I right? You can buy any old coat off the rack somewhere but nothing says sophistication and intelligence and taste like a good wool coat.

The problem is, you can’t just walk into a store and buy one of these things, you have to find the right one for you. Wool coats aren’t like other coats, you often need to have them fitted (though you can get away without doing this in some cases). Where you buy the coat is also important, as well as how much you spend on it. So I decided to make a web page dedicated to all these things in order to help you find the best coat possible.

I had quite a hard time finding my first one I’ve bought several wool coats over my life, usually overcoats that are long because I live in a pretty cold climate… and I bought my first one when I was 22 years old. The fact of the matter is, I had no idea what I was doing and I ended up with a pretty crummy coat. It just didn’t quite fit very well and it was little bit too large.

When I bought that first coat I fell into the overcoat trap. I thought that it needed to be a little bit larger than it normally would be since I would be wearing it over lots of things like suit jackets and things like that. I was mistaken! The amazing thing about a wool overcoat is that you don’t necessarily have to buy a larger one in order to wear it over things. These coats are a bit like magic and I’m not exactly sure how they do that; but it doesn’t really matter.

The Importance of Fitting: before you buy a men’s wool coat, you should absolutely have yourself fitted in the store. This is not a big deal whatsoever, usually a salesman can do this for you in a matter of a minute or two. Basically they just take a tape measure and run some quick measurements of your chest and shoulders and arms length. This way they can find the exact coat for your body size quickly and easily without you having to spend the day trying on dozens of different coats… and really, who wants to do that?! Not me!

To Tailor or Not To Tailor: that is the question! Many people like to have these kind of coats tailor-made by somebody who specializes in tailoring jackets and suits. Yes, it is true you will get a much better fitting coat this way that will look better and possibly even last longer… but you can expect to pay much more money doing this than simply buying off the rack. It’s really a matter of personal preference. If you have the money and are so inclined, then I recommend having one tailor-made. But for most of us, off the rack will do just fine.

Wool Coats Are Tricky in that the material can be both thin and thick. For this reason, you really need two coats; one for the fall and spring when it’s not so cold outside, and one for the dead of winter when you absolutely need something that has more warmth and will keep out the cold adequately.

One thing is absolutely sure though, and that is a wool coat men, is something you can be proud to wear and something that you know will never go out of style. I don’t have time to keep up on fashion so I need to know that my coat is always going to look good, and now I do.

Yes I understand it may be a bit odd making a web page about via spiga coats when you run a men’s wool coat website. Why is that? Because via spiga coats are primarily women’s coats! But I decided to dedicate a page of my site to them anyway because they’re so nice and so many people are interested in them that I thought it would be useful to give a little information.

So on this page I’m going to discuss three or four different kinds of coats from this brand, discuss the pros and cons of each of them, and talk a little bit about prices and how you can find the best deals, and where to look for those deals if we have enough time. I’m going to talk about the Via Spiga Cashmere Blend Women’s Walker Coat, and the Via Spiga Luxurious Belted Wool Coat, and also the Via Spiga Belted Leather Coat. So let’s get right into it!

Via Spiga Belted Leather Coat Color: this coat is originally priced at around $500 but you can expect to pay anywhere from $200-$225 in most cases. It is a really appealing espresso brown color that is incredibly distinctive right off the bat. It’s made of leather/poly and contains snaps as well. This coat is dry clean only which is something you’re going to need to keep in mind when you purchase it. It is lined of course and it’s sleeve length is 24.5 inches and its main length is 31 inches and the bust across is 19 inches. This coat has a casual air about it, but also can be used in formal settings.

Via Spiga Luxurious Belted Wool Coat this is a very elegant coat that will only run you around $90 making it an incredible steal! It is made up of 80% wool and also 20% nylon which gives it an impressive feel and smart look. It has a grommet detailed waste treatment and a tie belt. The center back length of the coat is 36 inches. This is very nice all around coat that you can pull off wearing in a formal setting as well as casual everyday wear.

Via Spiga Cashmere Blend Women’s Walker Coat at around $90 this coat is simply amazing. It’s made up of 70% wool and 20% nylon and of course 10% Cashmere that gives it that certain look and feel that you’ve come to expect from cashmere coat at the same time the wool lends warmth and durability that you can’t go wrong with. This is a very luxurious looking coat, make no mistake. It is double-breasted and has a notched collar walker as well as a signature lining. The coat is 37 inches center back length and it tends to run in the smaller sizes so if you plan on wearing anything else besides a basic blouse underneath it, consider purchasing a little bit larger size of coat and you’ll be happy you did.

There are so many options when it comes to via spiga coats that sometimes your head can reel at all the possibilities! Fortunately for the price you can’t go wrong so I suggest purchasing several of these beautiful coats to go with different outfits and different weather situations and seasons.

I used to live in downtown Chicago and if you don’t know Chicago in the winter time then I’m here to tell you, you don’t know cold! They don’t call it the Windy City for nothing! When that wind comes whipping off Lake Michigan in the middle of January when it’s -25° outside there’s nothing between you and icy torment accept your mens wool coat.

Styles come and go; fashions change from year to year, but one thing that never goes out of style is a good wool coat and if you’re looking for one then you’ve come to the right place. Today I’m going to talk about different brands, as well as different styles, and prices… I’m also going to talk about how you can find the right coat for you.

First things first, why wool coats? you have lots of options when it comes to coats, so why choose a wool coat? Good question. Personally I like them because they’re warm, they don’t go out of style, they’re not overly expensive, and they look really good. They work for both casual needs as well as highly formal times when you have to look your best for work.

How to find the right wool coat for you: picking the right coat is very important. It’s a matter of style, and a matter of personal identity. Your coat says who you are at a glance. It’s important to have one that fits you well and looks good. It’s easy to go wrong with a wool coat, pick the wrong size for instance, and it looks sloppy. Wool coats are often fitted which makes them hard to pick the right size if you don’t know what you are doing.

First you need to understand your local climate. If it’s warmer where you live in the winter, then you need to find a thinner wool coat or jacket. On the other hand if you live in a cold area of the country, you need something much thicker. That’s the great thing about wool, you can get something for any climate or season.

Let’s talk sizes: unlike most coats, your exact body size is important to understand before buying the coat. With a regular coat you can just pick any one that looks about right for you and away you go. With a wool coat, on the other hand, you need to pick the exact right size which means you need to measure your body; or better yet, have somebody else measure it who knows what they’re doing. Usually you will do this in the store as a perfectly normal thing. You’ll need to measure the size of your chest, your shoulders, your waist, your neck, your sleeves, and your inseam.

Pick a wool coat much like you would pick a suit jacket. If you’re not good at picking out suits, then go to a store where the salesmen can help you out. Make sure the salesman knows what they’re talking about and have been working at the store for many years and is comfortable taking measurements and has good taste.

Check out the rest of this website for information on different prices that you can expect to pay for a good mens wool coat. Prices range greatly and I’ll also talk about how you can get the best deals so that you don’t overpay and so that you don’t get a low-quality coat (this is more important than you might think!).
